Taylor Swift has once again proven her commitment to philanthropy.
According to Ellen Pompeo, the pop star donated the largest single check ever to support Pompeo’s NICU initiative at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
The program provides comfort and care for premature and medically fragile babies, making Swift’s contribution an immediate game-changer.
Ellen Pompeo’s Emotional Reveal
Appearing on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Pompeo recalled how her connection to Swift began with a cameo in the singer’s 2014 Bad Blood video.
Years later, when Pompeo asked Swift to support the NICU program, the singer didn’t hesitate.
“She knew me all but 20 minutes and that girl wrote me the biggest check without blinking an eye,” Pompeo said.

Music as Medicine
Pompeo described how the hospital program records parents’ voices singing lullabies or reading stories, which are then played for infants in the NICU during the day.

The recordings help soothe babies when parents cannot be present, with research showing the practice improves outcomes and emotional bonds.
Swift’s donation ensures the program can continue providing this unique form of care to families in need.

A Legacy of Giving
Swift’s generosity aligns with her long history of philanthropy. From funding hospitals and food banks to supporting disaster relief efforts, she has consistently leveraged her platform to uplift communities.
During her Eras Tour, she made multiple food bank donations, and in recent years she has supported wildfire relief in Los Angeles.

Pompeo summed up Swift’s impact best: her gift not only strengthens a hospital program but also sends a powerful message about using influence to create meaningful change.
